Bensalem Police, fire and rescue converged on the intersection of Springdale  Drive and Pasquelone Blvd.   in the Neshaminy Valley section of the Township tonight, December 10, 2015.  A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross the street at the intersection.

The pedestrian is reported to be a resident of the area, and the driver that struck him is  also a resident, cops said.  The driver of the car was shaken up at the scene, as he watched medics package the male who came in contact with his vehicle.  Newport fire Company sent two trucks to the scene to assist with lifting the man into the back of the ambulance and to light the scene.

Three medic  units were called to the scene but only one transported to a local hospital.  The other two returned to service.  The man’s injuries are said to be serious but not life threatening. The vehicle sustained a smashed windshield and busted hood, from when the victim was struck.   Charges against the driver are not likely , and he stayed on the scene and cooperated with cops.  The driver of the car and his young son were not injured.

The scene was cleared very quickly.
