An aging Victorian house was destroyed by a quick moving fire on Knowles Avenue today, January 11 2019. No injuries were reported. A woman was the sole occupant and she got out with no injuries. Knowles Avenue is in Upper Southampton, near 2nd Street Pike.  The fire started quickly but grew qucikly. Winds and the dry condition of the structure  helped fan flames. It was held to one alarm.

A nearby school curtailed the pick up of students to the opposite side of the street, so as not to interfere with operations.   Fire companies from Bensalem and Lower Moreland were called to assist.  The cause has not been determined. Traffic was detoured in the area for several hours.
