Water Department wants you to drink tap water and save cash

The Coca Cola Company and Nestle do not want you to read this.  Did you know that most bottled water is nothing more than other cities tap water?  In Philadelphia, at city hal, , water department employees were on hand to provide free water to citizens.   “Philadelphia Tap Water is clean, safe and efficient, to drink ,” said Laura Copeland,  of the Public Affairs Division of the  Phila Water Department.

To further educate the public, there will be a table set up in the courtyard of city hall with pitchers of water.  Philadelphia Tap Water.   This “Water Bar” will be set up from noon to 1:00 PM every Thursday through the spring and summer, weather permitting.   At a press event held Wednesday,  people were educated about tap water from the city. In this region, many people work for $7.25 an hour or maybe a bit more, yet they will buy bottled water. “This, does not make sense said Copeland”, this is a way for people to  keep money in their pocket.  Tap water is free.  In fact, the water department will give out a free bottle at the Water Bar  to keep water in and put it in the refrigerator.

40 percent of Philadelphia  do not do this, they spend money on bottled water. In fact, when going to city events,  you can see merchants try to gouge consumers with prices of $4.00 or more for a bottle of water.   By keeping some water bottles with you, you can save cash and use the free filling stations set up at these events.
