Police arrested Khalif Moore, 33, of North Fawn Street and stuffed him in jail where he is held without bail.  Moore is charged with leaving the scene of an accident on October 25, 2019. The accident happened on the 700 block of West Berks Street.  Michael Canals was walking his dog when Moore allegedly drove into him, killing him and his newly adopted pet. Moore kept going and did not stop.

Moore is held in prison with no bail, and is charged with murder,  homicide by Vehicle, Animal Cruelty and drugs. Apparently,Moore was a drug dealer as well. He knew he hit someone and knew he failed to stop. Upon conviction, Moore will be sentenced to multiple decades in state prison. Canals was well known and liked by his peers who worked at many Philadelphia music venues.
