IRS Website Not Prepared To Handle Stimulus Check Inquiries

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Did you get your stimulus payment today?  You did not. Would you like to check on the status?  Good luck.  The WEBSITE to check on this has crashed or it is not fully functioning. most people that go online to check have to wait due to heavy demand. That is understandable. However, when they w\enter their information, they are greeted with a page saying the status of getting your payment is unknown.  You are unable to go farther.

IRS officials were not prepared for the onslaught of requests.  A small percentage of people still need to get paper, printed checks. That could translate to as much as 10 to 15 million people, maybe more. They include sole proprietor businesses, self employed, and people that have not set up a direct deposit. Generally, these people are the people that pay into the system and do not get refunds.

The notice that the IRS does not have enough information is generic and should not be taken to mean there is no stimulus check coming., No one can take this check from you or interfere with it unless you have a judgement against you in a court of law or unless you owe back child support. Some people that get stimulus checks will be getting them sooner than others, officials said. A married couple making $150,000 per year or more will be the last to get checks.  People making minimum wage will be among the first to get them.

Officials hope to have all of the bugs out of the IRS website soon, so millions can track their payments.
