Good contractors are difficult to find.   Some nickel and dime you, others take your money and ghost you when it gets time to do the work. Steven Simpson is a contractor that was allegedly playing the  the “get back to you ” game when it came time to do work.

This all started last year when person in Newtown Twp. Bucks County Pa. approached Simpson at the Philadelphia Home Show and contracted with his company  Simpson Custom Design, to put in new kitchen cabinets. A contractor will need a despot and Simpson got one in the amount of $133,000 police said. He never did the work.  There was always a delay and this went on for about a year.

Ultimately,  the customer got someone else to do the work and Simpson only refunded a small portion of the deposit, police said. After an investigation, he was arrested August 24, 2020  and turned himself in to police. He is charged with Home Improvement Fraud, theft, and related charges.
