Seven Shootings Over the Weekend, Five Were Fatal

Violent crime is not letting in in Philadelphia, it’s getting worse. Over the May 1 2021 weekend in the city, there were seven shootings which resulted in five fatalities  In all over the cases,there have been no arrests. The shootings happened in almost all areas of the city.

16th District-Shooting Incident  

On Monday, May 3rd, 2021, at approximately 12:15 A.M., Police responded to the 8XX block of North 40th Street for shooting on highway.  A 32-year-old black male was located on the 3900block of Parrish Street with a gunshot wound to the right knee.  He was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is currently listed in stable condition. The scene was held, no arrest and no weapon recovered.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Southwest Detectives Division.

35th District-Shooting Incident  

On Monday, May 3rd, 2021, at approximately 12:07 A.M., Police responded to the 4600 block of North Marvine Street for a person with a gun on the highway.  A 25-year-old black male received a gunshot wound to the right thigh.  He was transported by PFD-Medic Unit to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was treated and released.   The scene was held, no arrest and no weapon recovered. The investigation is active and ongoing with Northwest Detectives Division.

15th District-Homicide by Shooting Incident  

On Sunday, May 2nd, 2021, at approximately 10:53 P.M., Police responded to the 5200 block of Burton Street for a person with a gun on the highway.  A 28-year-old black male was shot multiple times throughout his body. He was transported by police to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced at 11:20 P.M..  Three additional males received graze wounds but refused treatment.  No arrest, no weapon recovered, and the scene was held.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.

22nd District-Homicide by Shooting Incident  

On Friday, April 30th, 2021, at approximately 1:31 P.M., Police responded to the 27XX block of Ridge Avenue for a person with a gun on the highway.  A 34-year-old black male was shot in the head while seated on a wheelchair. He was pronounced on the scene by PFD-Medic Unit at 1:38 P.M..  The victim was later identified as Raheim Brown of the 18XX block of North 27th Street.  No arrest, a weapon recovered, and the scene was held.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.  Motive and Suspect: Unknown

14th District-Homicide by Shooting Incident  

On Friday, April 30th, 2021, at approximately 6:46 P.M., Police responded to the 18XX block of Mohican Street for a person with a gun on the highway.  A 19-year-old black male was shot multiple times to the body.  He was transported by PFD-Medic Unit to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was pronounced at 7:06 P.M..  The victim was later identified as Cameron Scott-Bey of the Unit block of West Sharpnack Street.  No arrest, no weapon recovered, and the scene was held.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.  Motive and Suspect: Unknown

24th District-Homicide by Shooting Incident  

On Saturday, May 1st, 2021, at approximately 11:01 A.M., Police responded to the 31XX block of G Street for a person with a gun on the highway.  A 21-year-old black male was shot in the chest. He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced at 12:47 P.M..  The victim was later identified as Craig Thomas Jr of the 5XX block of East Allegheny Avenue.  No arrest, a weapon recovered, and the scene was held.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.  Motive and Suspect: Unknown

24th District-Homicide by Shooting Incident  

On Saturday, May 1st, 2021, at approximately 8:48 P.M., Police responded to the 20XX block of East Silver Street for a person with a gun on the highway.  A 33-year-old white male was shot multiple times to the body.   He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced at 9:56 P.M..  The victim was later identified as Devin Shaughnessy of the 29XX block of Kensington Avenue.  No arrest, a weapon recovered, and the scene was held.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.  Motive and Suspect: Unknown
