Major Job Fair Happening Tomorrow At Oxford Valley Mall

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Perhaps you are looking for a career change.  Maybe you need a side hustle to pick up a few extra dollars.  Either way,  you should make your way to the Oxford Valley Mall tomorrow, March 29,2022. Chances are you could be offered a position on the spot. There is going to be a job fair with over 100 jobs available.

From previous job fairs held by recruitment Queen, none of these are minimum wage jobs.

In all, several hundred jobs will be available at the job fair. The following employers have signed up to exhibit so far: Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Superpac, Inc., TLC Nursing Service, Inc., Pickering Manor, Dow Jones, Regency Management Services, McHales and Age in Place Home Care, Bayada Home Health Care, Northeast Building Products, Ocean State Job Lot, Associa Mid-Atlantic and Delta Lighting Products Inc. More employers will be added leading up to the job fair.

Pickering Manor is looking to staff 20 or more positions at its continuing care retirement community in Newtown, including patient care positions such as nurses, CNAs, personal care aides, as well as cooks, housekeepers, and dietary aides.

The facility is also recruiting for its 24-bed memory care unit, which is expected to open in April, according to Human Resources Director Ellen Huber. In preparation for the unit’s opening, everyone – including housekeepers and other non-caregivers – are undergoing dementia training with the goal of being the first in the nation to have all staff fully trained in dementia care.

Pickering Manor offers referral bonuses for employees, paid time off and 401Ks for both full- and part-time employees. Full-time staff also are eligible for health insurance and company-funded life insurance, short- and long-term disability.

The pandemic has made hiring of licensed staff more challenging, Huber said.

“A lot of training programs were shut down,” she said. “Even in tech schools, they couldn’t graduate with their CNA.”

Offered in a similar format as other career fairs, job seekers will be able to ask questions of Pickering Manor representatives, as well as other employers during the three-hour fair, according to RecruitmentQueen Founder Jennifer Schultz.

RecruitmentQueen’s Bucks County Spring Job Fair will be held in the center court of Oxford Valley Mall, 2300 Old Lincoln Highway in Langhorne on March 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To learn more, please visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bucks-county-spring-job-fair-tickets-267173933427.
