Thomas Wessells

The Chester County District Attorney  announced criminal charges  against Thomas Wessells,  55, formerly of New Castle Delaware. stemming from an internal investigation  launched by Witmer Public Safety Group, located in Sadsbury Township, Chester County.  Apparently, cops said Wessells was discovered watching pornography on company computers and was fired from his position as Director of Order Fulfillment.  His job allowed him access to the company computers and merchandise that the company offers for sale to police and fire departments across the country. The arrest was announced December 1, 2015.

Apparently, Wessells had a side business , authorities said. He would divert equipment meant to be sold by the company, and instead, he would sell it himself, on EBAY.  He was hired in 2005 but when he was discovered to be viewing porn on company computers, he was terminated from his employment in 2014. His computers were forensically dissected by computer technicians, who found that he had installed a shortcut email address on his computer, that linked to an Ebay account.

It was on this account, that Wessells was  selling rifle scopes, firefighters helmets and light.  Wessels was found to have shipped the pilfered items from his home address and he never accounted for any of the money.  The stolen merchandise was valued at $195,000, police said.  He is alleged to have sold over 2000 different items on Ebay. Wessels never reported any of the proceeds on his tax return, police said. he was charged with felony  theft,  dealing in unlawful proceeds and related charges, Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan said.
