A grinding three vehicle crash  damaged the property of a gas station on Street Road  in Bensalem Twp. late last night. According to police, shortly after 10:00 PM a vehicle traveling east on Street Road went off the road near Eddington Ave. and slammed into a light pole which was property of the Sunoco gas station. The pole crashed to the ground. As the Hyundai Sonata was still moving over an elevated greenbelt that surrounds the property, it went airborne and barrel rolled before slamming into a  pick up truck.

The driver of the pick up truck was not in his vehicle, but he was close to it, as he had just finished getting fuel. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. His parents arrived at the scene ,confused, looking for answers as to what happened. His truck was totaled.  The vehicle that left the road was being operated by a male who had a female passenger in the car with him. Both were trapped in the car for about 20 minutes and had to be freed. Firefighters rushed around,  using different rescue tools to get an opening in the vehicle to free the occupants. They also had to insure that the car was stabilized, as it was on it’s side and could tip over if weight was put on it wrong.

The force of the impact pushed the pickup truck into another vehicle that sustained minor damage and was driven away.  That driver was away from his vehicle and was not hurt. The gas pumps were closed until authorities could determine it was safe and any fuel that had spilled was cleaned up. T
