The Flower Show has finished it’s run in Philadelphia,  and that means spring will be around the corner. we  hope.  Don’t worry, the show will return in 2019, but for now, it has finished.  Record crowds walked through the doors.  The problem of bad weather only affected one day. Once inside, people could see professional yardscapes  which were elaborate.

There were also smaller flowers as well.  as people walked through the show, on the elaborate displays, it was like a treasure hunt, with a list of things to see, like turtle sculptures and such, that people tried to find.   There was a very nice vendor area that people could get gifts for themselves (or for their house). Prices start around $15.00 and up to and including $13,000 for a pair  of  hand made brass lions.

The highlight of this years was a live butterfly room. Once inside, people were given Q Tips that were moistened There were hundreds of butterfly s that were in an enclosure, where people could catch them. At times, the little creatures would land on people. They were attracted to bright colors and scents.  It was not uncommon for them to land on people’s heads or to  land on their clothing.

One tick to getting the most out of the flower show is to go to the show during the middle of the week if you are able to.
