Bucks County Couple Arrested For Lying About Hit and Run Crash

If you lend your vehicle to someone, and the police ask you who was driving,  here is a word of advice: Be truthful and tell them,  Had Dorothy Hermann followed that advice a year ago, you would not be reading this, and she would not be in trouble. On April 20, 2020, she lent her car to Elias Mallouhi, 21, of Allentown.  Mallouhi struck an 85 year old male in the parking lot of a WAWA In Plumstead Twp.  He then took off, leaving  the senior citizen on the ground.

 

A witness got his tag and gave it to the police.   The car was owned by  Dorothy Hermann who denied knowing who was driving her vehicle.  Police investigated further and determined that she was lying to them.  When asked again in February about the accident, Mallouhi admitted that he was driving. Hermann was also re interviewed and admitted lying to the police.  She was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, Obstructing administration or law or other governmental function and false reports to law enforcement authorities. She was arraigned and freed under $200,000 unsecured bail.

Mallouhi was charged with Accidents involving death or personal injury, Accidents involving death or personal injury while not being licensed, Obstructing administration of law or other governmental function. He too was released on $200,000 unsecured bail.. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident  . He did not have a valid drivers license at the time of the accident.
