A lot of high school football games were canceled or postponed due to threats, in Philadelphia last night. Suburban schools and others had an increased police presence. In Bensalem, the game went on as scheduled but there was a contingent of lawn enforcement that was larger in the past. This after the shootings in Roxborough and in Delaware.
The rain held off and it was a blustery night, as kick off started. The game remained scoreless for most of the first half. in the end, the Truman Tigers won by squeaking past the Owls 8-7. It was with just over two minutes left in the game, when Rondell Bradley scored a touchdown and then a two point conversion put them over.
In the second quarter, a skirmish along the Truman sideline turned into a brawl. Four players were ejected , two from each team. A flag was thrown on a Bensalem coach, after he tried to argue with officials. What started the fight is unknown. Bensalem would be down three players after quarterback Zack Roberts was taken out due to injury.
There were multiple penalties thrown on both teams, from infractions ranging from unsportsmanlike conduct to being off sides.
