2-Alarm Fire Rips Through Frankford Ave. Dollar Store

On the plus side, there were no injuries reported. The downside, a business on the 6100 block of Frankford Avenue is destroyed by fire. The blaze was reported about 4:00 PM and when fire companies arrived, they found heavy fire inside the Dollar Tree. The interior of the store was gutting, with all of the stock going up in smoke.
All of the companies dispatched were put in service, fire officials said. Frankford Avenue was closed for two blocks in both directions, as well as area streets, to accommodate apparatus or fire hose. A cause has yet to be determined. One of the walls of building is in danger of a collapse. Fire crews will be on scene for an extended time, clearing up and making sure the building does not re kindle. The fire was declared under control about an hour later, officials said.
