Teenager Arrested For Shooting Off Duty Police Officer In Roxborough

Nakeem Wilson 18 from the 700 block of Valley Green Road was arrested and charged with the shooting of an officer June 8, 2023. Both vehicles were on the 7600 block of Ridge Avenue heading south when the officer saw Wilson on a scooter, allegedly operating in a reckless manner, weaving and disregarding traffic laws. Wilson could have gotten killed or hurt someone with his driving, so the officer pulled along side and told him to stop.
He even rolled is car window down so Wilson could see he was an officer. That did not matter as Wilson allegedly then pulled a pistol, police said and fired , hitting the off duty, who suffered a graze wound. The male on the scooter ran away on foot, leaving the scooter behind. The officer fired several shots at the male but the male was not found.
Investigative leads found that the male on the scooter was Wilson. He was arrested and charged with weapons offenses, assault and related charges.
