A fire that Bristol Township- Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said was intentionally set has sent a fire company captain to a local hospital with injuries.
This fire was reported at 2:27 AM along the exterior of the building at 801 Cedar Ave at the Bucks County Carpet business. It was closed and the building was unoccupied at the time. The fire spread up an exterior wall and got into the attic space, Dippolito said.
A captain, with the Croydon Fire Company was in the attic, when the floor gave way, causing him to fall about 12 feet, Dippolito said in a news release. An adjacent building has minor smoke damage to two occupied apartments, which were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire marshal said he is in the process of getting video and still photos from nearby businesses and residents, in the hopes of catching the arsonist. Anyone with information is asked to contact Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito @ 267-812-2907.
