Another Long Distance Thief Arrested In Warrington

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Warrington ( Bucks County PA) Police were called to the Wegmans on Main Street. On September 7, 2023 Store security watched as a blonde female and her male companion walked into the store. The two allegedly grabbed multiple packages of razors. They then put the razors into the female’s purse and left the store without paying.

When security approached them, they did not want to cooperate. Instead, the female dumped the razors on the ground and fled with her male friend. When police got there, the couple was gone. Using cameras and license plate readers, police were able to identity the female as Kimberly Smith, of Northeast Maryland.

She was contacted by police and chose to turned herself in before Christmas, which she did, as opposed to having police take her from her house. She had to drive from Northeast Maryland to Warrington for her arrest. Her bail was set at $25,000 unsecured by District Judge Stacy Wertman. Smith will have to get herself back to Bucks County for all of her court hearings..

This comes just a week after another long distance shoplifter was arrested by Warrington Police.

  1. couple arrested for stealing a couple of razors, and $25,000 bail???. Oh wow I saw nice people stealing designer bags worth $5,000usd and up. Raiding sneakers stores pharmacies ECT… The authorities don’t do anything because they don’t want to hurt some people feelings. Well as you see it, This country is going down the shutter, and police worry about $10 dollar razor blades and ignoring the real problems🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷

    1. It’s up to the store to press charges bud – this isn’t an authorities issue – they’ll go after anyone the stores press charges against. And yeah idaf what they stole arrest them.

    2. I guess it depends on the county. I am very happy that harsh punishments/bail amounts are being implemented to discourage thieves coming to our town thinking they can get away with stealing, no matter the amount.

    3. She will probably jump bail which will land her in jail automatically! So one criminal off the streets! I also suspect they will find her as a thief in her own state too! I’m sure more charges will be added!

    4. El Gato: so you’re complaining about high bail for a ‘minor’ crime at the same time complaining about under-prosecuting higher value crimes ??? Harsh punishments will hopefully deter other thieves coming to Warrington! 🤡🤡🤡

  2. Bail is meant to insure appearance at trial PR other hearings. It is not suppose to be sent so high that jail is the only option for a defendant.
I don’t like “get out of jail free” bail systems but I don’t want to be feeding them and giving them free housing as well.
