Fire Rips Through Bensalem Apartment Complex

Several apartments were severely damaged during a fire at the Knightsbridge Apartments, in Bensalem. It was just before 10:00 PM when fire companies were called to building E. First in companies reported smoke showing. Within a few minutes, heavy fire was pushing from the second floor and heavy smoke was running through the length of the building that housed at least 12 apartments. near the original one that was on fire.

A lot of the damage was from heavy smoke, officials said. A good number of the apartments are going to be uninhabitable until the smoke damage can be rectified.

There is no word on injuries . The fire companies cut holes in the roof on several different places to relieve trapped smoke. Fire crews were able to place the fire under control by 10:15 PM. A cause is under investigation. It is unknown if the apartments where the fire started were vacant or occupied.
