It is against the law for a person 18 years of age or older to do anything sexual with someone who is not quite 18. Even if the act is initiated by the minor. That fact of law was lost on Harsh Kumar, of Penndel Pa. Police were called to the Express Fuel station at 652 Bellevue Ave. for a report of a sexual assault. When they arrived, they found a 14 year old girl with her father, who accused the station attendant of molesting the girl.
They alleged that Harsh Kumar had sexually assaulted the girl in the public bathroom at the gas station. It is irrelevant if the girl went in willingly or was forced.as Kumar was 22 years old. Police took him into custody for questioning and he admitted that he was naked in front of the girl and did sexual acts.
During his questioning, police said that Kumar said that he thought the girl was “15-17 years old” but also knew she was underage. Kumar was held under $250,000 bail /10 percent. The 14 year old girl was taken to St. Mary’s for a sexual assault investigation but later transported to a Philadelphia Hospital for further examination, police said.
Kumar was charged with Statutory Sexual Assault, Corruption of Morals and related offenses.
