Fatal Motorcycle Accident On Bensalem Boulevard

Bensalem Police confirmed that Jonathon Benner, 34, Harding Avenue Langhorne, PA, was killed when his Harley Davidson motorcycle crashed into a utility pole near Fernwood Avenue. Sgt. Glenn Vandegrift, of the Bensalem Police Department said that the motorcycle sustained “Significant damage to the front suspension”

Vandegrift said that Benner suffered significant head injuries and broken bones and did not appear to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Police said the accident happened at 6:42 PM.

Bensalem Police believe that the presence of alcohol in Benner’s system may have contributed to this crash.  The final determination is pending toxicology results.  The investigation is ongoing.

Emergency responders were kept busy tonight about 7:00 PM. They were dispatched to a report of a serious motorcycle accident on Bensalem Boulevard. Upon their arrival, they found a motorcycle had struck a utility pole . The driver and sole occupant of the bike was killed in the crash, authorities said.

It has not been confirmed by police which direction the bike was traveling.when it crashed , near Sterling Ave.. There were no other vehicles involved. The identity of the driver has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Bensalem Boulevard was closed to traffic for several blocks as investigators launched a drone and took measurements on the ground.
