When firefighters arrived on the 3100 block of Moore Street in Bensalem just after 4:00 PM today ,they were greeted by thick grey smoke pushing out of the front door. All of the residents were out. Crews went in service with ladders and broke windows to clear trapped smoke.
Narrow streets hindered ideal placement of apparatus and a hydrant in front of the house was not used for unknown reasons. Instead, water lines had to stretched to Street Road. Fire Companies from Penndel, Middletown and Bristol were among those called to the scene.
The Red Cross was called to assist the displaced family. The house sustained severe smoke and water damage. The fire was brought under control in less than 15 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
