Bucks and Montgomery County Firefighters Battle Lower Moreland House Fire

Firefighters from both Upper and Lower Southampton Twps. worked with Montgomery County crews for a stubborn house fire on Corn Crib Lane, in Lower Moreland Twp. This fire was reported yesterday, about 4:00 PM.

Fire and smoke was showing up arrival of the first in crews and extra help was brought in from Bucks County, who went to work putting ladders to the building and helping with fire suppression. The house, sits on a very quiet street and according to neighbors, only one man was home at the time.

He got out and fire officials said there were no injuries. The cause is being investigated. Firefighters had to stretch about a quarter of a mile of fire hose down Chimney Swift Drive. Luckily nearby Huntingdon Pike was not affected.

Fire crews from as far away as Hatboro responded in to the scene. Those firefighters used a tower ladder to gain access to the roof . At least 20minutes in, fire crews still had fire in walls and ceilings. The cause was still under investigation by press time.
