A brutal, two car accident at Route 13 and Haines Road claimed the life of a young man and seriously injured another. The crash took place at the intersection and cops were conducting an investigation to determine what happened. A witness who did not want to give his name claimed to be in McDonalds and saw both vehicles traveling north on Route 13 when the crash happened. As they both went through the intersection, one of the vehicles slowed down, causing the other to make contact. That report has not been confirmed.
At the scene, the driver and sole occupant of a white vehicle slammed into a utility pole and it split in half. The driver , who was ejected, died at the scene. Police said the other driver sustained serious injuries. The crash happened just after 2:00 PM and caused Rt 13. to be closed at Haines Road, which was also closed at the intersection for the investigation. This closure lasted until about 6:30 PM There were no other vehicles involved .
