Details slow to come in Montgomery Gentry helicopter crash

By Alex Lloyd Gross

The country music world is still in shock after the sudden death of Troy Gentry,  half of the duo Montgomery Gentry. He was killed September 10, 2017, in Medford New Jersey, when a helicopter he was riding in crashed near the concert venue where they were scheduled to perform,  In fact, the chopper was near the Flying W airport, which has hosted many concerts in it'[s site.

We do know that the pilot, radioed in that there was a problem and he was hovering, while waiting for  emergency crews to respond.  As emergency crews arrived,  so did the FAA which then took over the investigation,  They will find out what caused the problem , what kind of problem it was and maybe even how to prevent it from happening again. That investigation could take months.

The concert was cancelled. There is nothing official on the bands website announcing any other cancellations.  That night, Luke Bryan was playing at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia and took a moment from his show to pay tribute to Gentry. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
