Two different accidents, on two different  days are being blamed on driver distractions.  Yesterday, July 26, 2018 shortly before noon, a driver  who may have been texting  slammed into a parked SUV along the 8200 block of Torresdale Avenue.  His vehicle flipped over, briefly trapping him, but he managed to get out without the need for heavy rescue .  The vehicle he hit was legally parked . Both vehicles  were totaled.  Police are looking to see if the driver possibly was under the influence of drugs.

Two days prior to this incident, a woman slammed into several parked cars on the 11000 block of Norcom Road.  Her vehicle also flipped over after striking several parked vehicles. The driver was not seriously injured but at least three parked cars sustained damage. Police suspect cellphone usage as the cause of this crash. The parked vehicles belonged to workers doing construction on a nearby building.
