Bensalem Council Meeting Cancelled, Board of Health to Spray for West Nile

The Bensalem Township Council Meeting scheduled for Monday August 12 has been cancelled officials announced on the township website.  

Officials said business scheduled to be addressed at the cancelled meeting will be addressed at the next meeting scheduled for August 26, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. in the Bensalem Township Municipal Building, 2400 Byberry Road, Bensalem, PA. a post signed by Council President Joseph Knowles.

In an unrelated matter, The Bucks County Department of Health is scheduled to spray for West Nile Virus on Tuesday, county officials said.

Spraying is scheduled to begin at dusk in the Eddington section of the township  on Whittier Avenue, Emerson Lane, and Biddle Lane.

The Department of Health’s Environmental Health Section heads the spraying program and is designed to help protect the county residents from the spread of West Nile Encephalitis and Zika virus. The Department runs an integrated mosquito management program (IMM) that involves educational outreach to all municipalities and the general public. Larval and mosquito surveillance is conducted from April 1st into October

The public can request a complaint form for mosquito breeding or you can find the nearest District Office by returning to the main Bureau page, or by phoning 215-345-3336. In addition, the Department offers numerous handouts regarding West Nile & Zika Viruses and mosquito breeding.
