Lower Makefield Board Of Supervisors Approves Hiring of Four New Officers

The Lower Makefield Board of Supervisor’s approved the hiring of four new polices officers unanimously at last weeks board meeting.

This  comes after the positions had been vacant for over a year, Police Chief Ken Coluzzi said.

The four newly hired officers are as follows:

• Michael Irvin, 32 from Hamilton, New Jersey. Graduate of Neshaminy High School  Currently attending  Mercer Community College majoring in Criminal Justice. Currently employed at the Bucks County Sheriffs office as a deputy sheriff. Irivin is also United States Marines Corp as a Military Police Sargent.

• Timothy Bachman 28, from Philadelphia and is a graduate of Father Judge High School. Earned an Associates Degree from Bucks County Community College in Criminal Justice.  Attended the Philadelphia Police Academy for Act 120 Certification and is currently employed by the Philadelphia Police Department as a police officer.

• Steven Markle, 28, Bensalem. Graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School. Earned a Degree in Criminal Justice from Westchester University. Attended Temple Police Academy for his Act 120 Certification and is currently a Bristol Borough Police Officer.

• Matthew McClay – 21. Graduate of Bucks County Community College related to Morrisville Police Chief George McClay.

Coluzzi said the new hires still have to complete full medical and psychological exams and take part in a urine drug screening for the hiring process to be completed.
