Fatal Crash Closes Frankford Avenue In Mayfair

A two car crash at the intersection of Frankford Avenue  and Rowland Street,  claimed the life of a driver. As of 12:30 PM Dec 6,2022  police have not yet made notifications to the family.

Police said both vehicles, a 2004 Acura and a Nissan were both driving south on Frankford Avenue on the 6600 block. At  that time, according to police,  the Acura was traveling an a high rate of speed and the Nissan was not. It was 4:47 AM when the driver of the Acura glanced off a pole and that impact ripped the door from his car. He was ejected and wound up several feet away.

 

His vehicle then also struck the Nissan, which was heading in the same direction. With the Acura now driver less, it slammed into a pole. Police said there were no passengers  in either car.

 

 

The driver of the Nissan went to the hospital in stable condition. The driver of the Acura was pronounced dead at the scene by medics at 5:15 AM.

The 6600 block of Frankford Avenue was closed until about 11:15 AM for investigation and clean up.
