A teenage driver was pulling from a parking spot on the curb , across the street from Ryan High School, yesterday, March 6. As she attempted to pull into traffic, authorities said her car came in contact with another car. Within seconds, her vehicle was flipped onto it’s side and the other vehicle was pushed into several parked cars, parked there by students.
The teenage driver was taken by medic unit to a local hospital. The other driver was dazed but refused medical transport. There were several parked vehicle with disabling damage. Shortly after the crash scene, several distraught parents raced to the scene to access the damage done to their vehicles.
According to the school officials, all of the parked cars were driven there by students. The school offers free,off street parking for the semester for $30.00 per vehicle. Students that do not wish to take advantage of that deal must take their chances, parking on Academy Road.
