Philadelphia Police confirm that one male was killed in a grinding two vehicle accident late last night on Knights Road. This crash happened just after 11:30 PM when police said a red vehicle was traveling at excessive speed, south on Knights Road. As the driver passed the Creekside Apartments in Bensalem, the vehicle was going down a slight hill. Just over the bridge for the Poquessing Creek, this driver lost control and went into on coming traffic.
The car hit a pick-up truck and rotated against a guide rail. The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries, the driver of the car was pronounced dead.. Police said neither vehicle had any passengers.
Knights Road was closed for hours, at Franklin Mills Boulevard, for traffic leaving the city. This stretch of road has seen it’s share of serious accidents. Bensalem Police regularly set up traffic enforcement for traffic leaving the township on this part of the road.
