Atlantic City Police Officer Arrested For Stealing $100,000

by Alex Lloyd Gross

LaQuay DuBose, 37, of Atlantic City New Jersey is on the wrong side of the law. He was a policeman working for the town of Atlantic City New Jersey. Officials said that he has been arrested for theft. This entire debacle started on March 21,2023 when bank workers accidentally deposited $100,000 into his checking account.

This was done in error and DuBose should have known by looking at his balance that something was wrong, and he should have made contact with the bank to report it. He did not. He ignored it and allegedly started a spending spree, officials said. On March 27, 2023, banking officials realized the error and closed DuBose’ account.

The problem was he was $35,903.17 over drawn. An investigation was launched and late last week, police, along with the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office arrested Dubose and charged him with theft. He has been suspended for the police department without pay, pending the outcome of his charges.
