One of the most reprehensible things that someone can do is lie to the police that someone tried to sexually assault and kidnap them and have an innocent person arrested and thrown in jail. That is exactly what happened with Daniel Pierson, back on April 16, 2024. He did nothing wrong, yet Anjela Borisova Urumova, of Bristol Township, told police he tried to kidnap and rape her.
An investigation ensued and police got what they thought was their suspect. In fact, Urumova admitted that she identified him from seeing him drive his truck around town, police said. The fake attack was said to have happened at the Redners parking lot in Middletown, Bucks County.
After the male suspect was arrested, police got word that something might be wrong with their case and they investigated it further. They looked at security footage and got cell phone records. When police confronted Urumova about her claims, she admitted she lied.
The male suspect was immediately freed from prison and all of his charges were withdrawn, police said. On May 20, 2024, Urumova was arrested and charged with filing a false police report and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, two counts of false reports and three counts of unsworn falsification to authorities. She was arraigned Monday before Magisterial District Judge Charles D. Jonas who remanded her to Bucks County Correctional Facility under $30,000 bail, 10 percent.
