Multiple Residents Displaced In Frankford Four Alarm Fire

The Philadelphia Fire Marshal’s Office said that between 40-50 people have been displaced after a warehouse caught fire on the 1200 block of Adams Ave just after 5:31 AM. Companies got on scene and had fire coming from a three story building.

The second and third alarms were quickly struck with rapid succession. Nearby homes were evacuated. By 6:30 AM, the fourth alarm was struck, Two extra engines were called due to flying embers. These crews would be responsible to be first in on any fires caused by the embers. Such as the case with nearby Pilling Street.

PECO was called with a rush due to transformers exploding. The building was not vacant. It was used for storage of automobiles said Tokhir Khan, the owner of the building.

He sat in a nearby playground watching the fire. A cause has not yet been determined. One fire engine was involved in an accident while responding to the fire.

Multiple streets around the 1200 block of Adams Ave were closed to traffic.
