by Alex Lloyd Gross

Cameras and license plate readers are responsible for the capture of Paul Miclescu of Landington Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland. Police say he allegedly robbed a 79 year old female of jewelry from in front of her home on Maltese Court in Bensalem.

It was back on September 9, 2024 when Miclescu and a female accomplice drove to a parking lot near the victims house. The female called the victim over to the car and allegedly removed a necklace from the victim, police said. The pair tried to trade her necklace for a fake one. The woman resisted so the pair of thieves allegedly drove away with both .

Within hours, police located video of the robbery and license plate readers tracked the vehicle, a Ford Explorer.. It was a rental which had been in Bensalem on previous occasions, police said. On one of those dates, the Ford Explorer pulled up to a Wawa and entered. A review of that video assisted Bensalem Detectives with identifying the SUV driver at the time of the robbery, Paul Miclescu, 28 years old, from Landington Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland.

On September 26, 20-23, police went to his home and interviewed Miclescu, along with Maryland authorities. Police said he had jewelry on him at that time but not the jewelry that was stolen in Bensalem. Police believe he pawned it.

Paul Miclescu waived extradition to Bucks County, and on Monday, October 7, 2024, the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department transported him from Baltimore, MD, to the Bensalem Township Police Department. He was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone on the felony charges and was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10% of $1,000,000 bail. Bensalem Detectives are actively investigating the female actor’s identity in this robbery.
