Bensalem Police stopped a male while he was driving a vehicle without lights and not using turn signals, around 2:00 AM December 8,2024. During a roadside chat during the car stop, the officer asked the male if he had a gun on him, which the male denied. He was identified as Khalil Laney. He was stopped on Knights Road near Dunksferry. During the conversation with police Laney provided he ID and officers saw a permit to carry a gun, police said.
Police got Laney out of the car. The officer smelled an odor of alcohol and he had a gun permit. For officer safety Laney was patted down and the officer found a 9mm gun . A check on his permit found that it had been revoked. He also had suspected marijuana packaged for sale in his car, Bensalem Police said.
Khalil Laney was charged with DUI, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession with Intent to Deliver, and traffic violations. District Justice Daniel Baranowski arraigned Khalil Laney and remanded him to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $35,000 bail.
