A van that was traveling south on the 9000 block of the Roosevelt Boulevard at a high Tate of speed veered out of control and struck two pedestrians. Police said this van was traveling down the outer lane .
Police said that the pedestrians were trapped under the van, which was wedged against a tree. The driver of the van was pronounced dead at 2:38 PM.
Both pedestrians were rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where one is in stable condition and the other was pronounced dead. Police closed the southbound outer lane which caused all traffic to switch to the inner lanes.
Police were trying to figure out why the van went out of control. A traffic light was also knocked over.
