DUI Check Point Nets Police A Stolen Gun On Red Lion Road

Police conducted a DUI checkpoint on the 600 block of Red Lion Road in Lower Moreland Twp on September 20, 2025. As a vehicle occupied by a driver and passenger approached the checkpoint, police suspected something was off. They held the vehicle and questioned the occupants.

Within a short time, police were searching the vehicle either with a warrant, or with consent to search. They discovered a grey backpack on the back floor of the vehicle. Inside was a 9mm Glock 43X handgun. It had been stolen from Bucks County. The passenger claimed ownership of the backpack, police said.

The passenger, Emeuel Charleston. did not have a license to carry firearms. Neither did the driver, police said. Charleston was charged with having the stolen gun as well as carrying it without a license.
