Former Falls Township Fire Chief Admits Guilt In Baby Abuse Case

by Dan Doyle | September 29, 2025

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA– Former Falls Township Fire Chief Brian Salt, once entrusted with protecting lives, now stands guilty of endangering one of the most vulnerable, his own child.

Salt pleaded guilty Tuesday in Bucks County Court to felony endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor simple assault after prosecutors said he seriously injured his infant. The plea spares Salt a trial but cements his responsibility in a case that has shocked both his community and the fire service.

The baby’s injuries, investigators determined, were the result of abuse, not an accident. Prosecutors described the harm as significant, underscoring the seriousness of the crimes to which Salt admitted.

Salt, who led the Falls Township Fire Department, now faces the possibility of prison time when he is sentenced at a later date. The felony count alone carries the potential for years behind bars.

In addition to his role as Falls Township’s volunteer fire chief, Salt was also employed as a paid professional firefighter with the Northampton Township Fire Department. Following his arrest, sources confirmed that Salt was terminated from his position.

Community members who once looked to Salt for leadership and protection now grapple with the disturbing reality of his crimes. An earlier statement from the Falls Township Fire Company states that Salt was suspended indefinitely as the criminal case worked its way through the courts but a source within the fire service advised that Salt resigned from the fire company.
