Family Fun Day Held In Bensalem

by Alex Lloyd Gross

It was billed as a Family Fun Day. It was actually a great way to get out of the house and take the family to the Bensalem High School for a few hours of fun. There was something for everyone, from parents, to children, and even tweens who are difficult to please, there was something everyone would find fun.

Children would love one of several bounce houses set up in the gym. Once they tired from that, they could get their face painted and then get a balloon animal. The Girl Scouts were on hand to give information on scouting. Outside, hey could play in a SWAT truck or maybe even play on a firetruck. Picking up the forced entry tools used by first responders is a fun thing for kids to do.

Tweens, are defined as people not yet teenagers but who are too old for children’s attractions got to see what the High School gymnasium looks like and got to walk around to see what different exhibits were there, such as the Bucks County Library, and the Women’s Humane Society, as well as the Jenkintown Aquarium who put on a reptile show.

The event was put on by State Senator Frank Farry and State Rep KC Tomlinson, who both went to the event and met with constituents. Many people came up to them to discuss issues they were having. A State Police Helicopter was going to land at the high school as an added surprise.

According to Rep Tomlinson the event gets bigger every year and will be back next year, as the attendance was strong.
