Male Gets Arrested After Preventable Traffic Stop In Lower Moreland

‘Back in mid February, police saw a vehicle with expired inspection stickers pull into the WAWA on Philmont Avenue. The stickers expired in August 2021 and the driver, Jihad Dandridge had already been stopped for this violation at least one time in the past, police said.

The driver, Jihad Dandridge, of Wyncote could not produce a valid insurance card and kept fumbling with his phone to try to get insurance information to show police. The officer smelled marijuana and the car had bent up air fresheners jammed into the vent of the car vents. Dandridge told officers he smokes in his car but had not smoked recently. He refused permission for a search of the car.

The car was impounded and a search warrant was granted. Officers found a digital scale, marijuana. They also found several zip lock baggies marked “Cake batter” They have arrested Danridrige for drug possession and drug paraphernalia.

The expired inspection stickers were removed from the vehicle, police said.
