PA Attorney General: Two DELCO Officers Sold Their Badges For Cocaine

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Two Sharon Hill Police Officers, one a detective, have been arrested by agents with the PA State Attorney General’s office. The allegations are serious. Vincent Procopio, a detective with Sharon Hill Police Department, and Dominic Dellabarba, were arrested. Procopio is charged with possession with intent to deliver for acting as an accomplice to the drug-dealing. He is also charged with bribery, tampering with physical evidence, and other offenses related to Procopio’s assisting the drug dealer in exchange for cocaine.

Dellabarba is charged with obstructing administration of the law, and other offenses.

According to the Attorney General’s office, both officers worked with a drug dealer and told him about potential investigations into his business as well as if any of the dealer’s acquaintances were working with law enforcement.

Dellabarba allegedly, assisted the dealer after it was known the dealer was under investigation, including informing the dealer if they had any active warrants. It is alleged that both officers received their payment in cocaine.

The drug dealer is not being identified as they have provided information to law enforcement. They are facing criminal charges. In other words, the drug dealer flipped and will testify for the state against the officers.

“The actions of these sworn officers were betrayals of the community and of their fellow officers, who abided by their sworn oaths to protect and serve,” Attorney General Sunday said. “These selfish, criminal acts also stain the reputations of many public servants who make sacrifices for their communities every day across the Commonwealth.”
