US Supreme Court Up Holds Ban On Trans Athletes

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Men who transition to females might not be able to play in female sports teams and leagues. That ruling came down from the US Supreme Court today. It does not ban trans women from playing. What it does do is uphold as constitutional any ban enacted into law.

When Jason transitions into Justine, he now identifies as a female but is superior in strength and stamina, which means that records previously held by girls get shattered. Proponents of the law call it akin to having an adult play with teenagers due to the fact that they identify as a teenager.

There are several “Fairness In Sports” bills that are in committees in different state legislatures across the country. This ruling makes those bills easier to pass. Members of the ACLU are not happy about this and vowed to champion their cause.

In another ruling, the court ruled that babies born in the United States are indeed United States Citizens, thus throwing a monkey wrench in President Donald Trump’s agenda for ICE deportation. Immigration groups celebrated this ruling while some republicans vowed to introduce a constitutional amendment to get around this ruling. That is a long shot and is not likely to pass.
