A motorcycle rider was killed when his motorcycle ran into the back of a car on Pond Street, near Dorrance in Bristol Borough. The driver of the car also sustained an injury, police chief Joe Moors said. The crash happened about 4:00PM.
After the crash, the motorcyclist flew off his bike, which was in pieces on Pond Street. Chief Moors stopped short of saying that speed was a factor, but there was significant damage to the car as well.
Police arrived on scene and asked for a medic unit multiple times along with multiple 911 callers.. When the medic got to the scene, they pronounced the motorcyclist and transported the driver of the car. Pond Street will be closed for a while for the investigation.
The identities of both drivers are withheld pending notification of next of kin.
