A school district employee at a school cafeteria is behind bars after being accused of selling items to students that were not on the menu. Namely, marijuana. This went on for some time at George Washington High School in Northeast Philadelphia. When employees at the school found out, they called cops who reviewed a surveillance video that showed Robert Lumpkin, 31,of the 2400 block of North 21st Street accompany several students to a nearby by men,s room. This happened multiple times, police said.
Police had no idea of the magnitude of what Lumpkin was doing. They placed him under surveillance and when he failed to signal a turn, they initiated a traffic stop on his vehicle February 1, 2017. A search of his car turned up $200.00 in pot. He is currently suspended from his job pending the outcome of the charges. On the surface, under $300.00 worth of marijuana found is not that serious. However, when that person is accused of supplying it to children, in a school, while employed to look out for their welfare, it puts a different spin on it.
