US 1, Street Rd Lanes will be Closed Next Week for Construction in Bensalem

The Pennsyvania Department of Transportation announced on Thursday lane closures will be in place next week in each direction on U.S. 1 and Street Road (Route 132) for various construction activities on a project to reconstruct, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway in Bensalem Township.

The closures will begin on Monday, May 27, and go through Saturday, June 1, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Northbound and southbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway,.the announcement from the transportation agency says.
Additionally Street Road (Route 132) will  be reduced to a single lane in each direction between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way, officials say.
According to Penn DOT the work is part of a corridor improvement project to rebuild and widen U.S. 1; replace aging bridges; and install safety enhancements along a four-mile section of the expressway from just north of Philadelphia to just north of Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.
