A late night vehicle accident in Bristol Borough required extrication by fire crews early Sunday officials say.
The accident accident occurred on the 500 block of Radcliffe Street shortly after midnight Boro Fire Chief Herb Slack said when a vehicle rolled over trapping the driver inside.
First responders stabilized the vehicle then removed the windshield allowing the driver to safely exit the overturned vehicle, Slack said.
A witness to the accident said the motorist struck a parked vehicle causing it to “flip over.”
The motorist was transported by the Bensalem Rescue Squad for treatment at a local medical facility.
Bristol Borough Police Chief Steve Henry said the vehicle was operated by a borough resident who stated they were reaching for their cell phone prior to impact.
A citation was issued for careless driving to the operator of the vehicle, Henry said.
Fire companies responding to the scene were Bristol Fire Company, Goodwill Hose #3 and America Hose, Hook and Ladder #2.
