Some owners of restaurants and take out places are killing  their business and driving away customer, and they probably don’t even know it. When a customer comes in, and leaves pretty quickly,  it is not high prices driving them out the door, it is the fact that none or not all of the people involved in food preparation or food handling are wearing a mask.

This is evidenced  all over the region, from Bucks, Montgomery and especially the city. in fact is is prevalent all of the country.  People are cognizant of germs and of how this virus spreads. Droplets expelled through the nose and mouth during breathing is only one way.  No one wants to get coronavirus and when people see the staff cooking food at your restaurant not wearing a mask, they  do not order from you.

Imagine going to pizza place A.  You go in and nobody has a mask on, They are wearing gloves and a baseball cap. When you go in, the owner tells you the place is clean.and you have no chance of catching anything from them. The owner says he has been there 26 years and never a problem.  Yet to get into the place, you had to pull on the door to enter. That alone made you a bit uneasy so you drive a few blocks away to pizza place B. The door has a prop so you don’t have to touch the handle to gain entry. Once inside you see the entire staff wearing masks, gloves and head gear.  What place are you going to want to buy food from?

It is little things that make people not want to spend money. “Sorry delivery only” is a surefire way to kill your business. Some people want to see the people making the food and if they cannot, they don’t bother spending money with you.

While politicians like Tom Wolf and President Donald Trump recommend the wearing of a mask,  in public, they cannot mandate it.  A business owner can. “Wear the mask or you are fired”. In fact, with the COVID-19 pandemic, experts say  every employee coming in contact with anyone else in any business should be wearing one.  It’s just good business.
