Philadelphia Police are trying to negotiate with a male who is holding himself hostage while holed up inside a room on the second floor of the Motel 6, On the Roosevelt Boulevard, near Haldeman Avenue.  The incident started just before noon when police attempted to serve a warrant on the male.

He then pulled a gun on them and ran into the motel room and locked the door.  He is not communicating with anyone and the entire motel is on lockdown.. The male is screaming incoherently.  SWAT is pulling up to the scene as well as Homeland Security Units to facilitate communications.

Traffic on the outer, southbound lanes have been closed. A nearby car dealership has secured windows and doors on the side where the male’s room is facing.  No injuries have been reported. The warrant was for drugs.  This male just compounded the situation by pulling a firearm on police.  Video below/
