A 12 inch water main has ruptured on the 9400 block of Blue Grass Road.   By 10:00 AM  water was gushing up through one manhole cover, and up through the street where a fire plug was knocked over.

The street is in danger of being undermined but as of 10:30 AM, the road is still  open to traffic.  Cars are driving over the manhole cover that has been compromised by the rushing water.  A nearby shopping center parking lot was flooded.  Water is several inches high in the lot.  Water is running down towards Welsh Road and is starting to ice up. Salt trucks have been requested.

There have been no reports of water coming into houses. The Water Department is arriving on location to shut off the water, which may affect homes and businesses in the area.
