Seven People Killed In Philadelphia Crime This Weekend

The following , taken directly from police reports will detail the violent weekend of crime in most areas of the city.  With one exception, these incidents happened from March 3 through March 4, 3023

 

 

39th District- Homicide by Shooting Update

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, at approximately 9:21 P.M., Philadelphia Police responded to the 3700 block of North Carlisle Street for a person with a gun. A 19-year-old  male was located with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.Police transported the victim to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:39 P.M.He was identified as Samir Burton from the 3700 block of North Carlisle Street. Scene held, no arrest and no weapon recovered.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.

18th District-Double Homicide by Shooting Update

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, at approximately 8:32 P.M., Philadelphia Police responded to the 6000 block of Sansom Street for a shooting. A 34-year-old black male was located with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.Police transported the victim to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:09 P.M.He was identified as Terrell White from the 5800 block of Chestnut Street.Victim #2:A 24-year-old  male was located with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Police transported the victim to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:30 P.M. He was identified as Marquan Fox from the 100 block of South 61st Street. Scene held, no arrest and weapon recovered.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division

19th District- Homicide by Shooting Update

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, at approximately 8:26 P.M., Philadelphia Police responded to the 6000 block of Haddington Lane for a person with a gun, shooting. A 14-year-old black male was located with two gunshot wounds to the chest.Police transported the victim to Lankenau Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:23 P.M.He was identified as Anthony Pinkney from the 1800 block of South Cecil Street. Scene held, no arrest and no weapon recovered.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division

35th District- Homicide by Shooting Update

On Friday, March 3, 2023, at approximately 12:53 A.M., Philadelphia Police were flagged down for an unconscious male behind the library on the 1300 block of Wagner Avenue.A 30-year-old black male was located with gunshot wound to the chest.PFD-Medic Unit pronounced the victim on the scene dead at 1:01 A.M.He was identified as Anthony Christopher Jones from the 2600 block of North Broad Street. Scene held, no arrest and no weapon recovered.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.  

 

25th District- Homicide by Shooting Update

On Thursday, March 2, 2023, at approximately 9:15 P.M., Philadelphia Police responded to the 4300 block of North Marshall Street for a person with a gun. A 27-year-old male was located with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.Police transported the victim to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 12:18 A.M.He was identified as Ronny Payano-Roa from the 4300 block of North Marshall Street. Scene held, no arrest and no weapon recovered.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division

26th District- Homicide by Stabbing Update

On Thursday, March 2, 2023, at approximately 3:09 A.M., Philadelphia Police responded to the 2600 block of North 4th Street for a hospital case, stabbing.A 43-year-old  male was stabbed three times in the neck and once in the right under arm.PFD-Medic Unit transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:41 A.M.He was identified as Marcos Torres Rivera from the 3200 block of North Hope Street.Scene held, an arrest made and no weapon recovered.  The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.
